I have been having itch skin (rash?) in the past few days. I am always itchy the entire day and so I don't know if it is caused by an allergen or not.

-It started with nothing, just itchiness (mostly on my torso body, chest, back, neck, head, sometimes forearms) on my body, then I started scratching it gently, it became red instantly. The whole area is red. After a while, I could feel a little bump (very tiny, like a dot) on the area that itches.

-I work with rats and I use latex gloves too.

-I have been having other diseases lately adn so my immune system is compromised. (lack of sleep too...)

-so I don't know is it caused by allergy to rat, or to latex. Or is it just because I ate too much protein and triggered my immune system to respond to anything my skin touches.

-one time I was wearing short sleeves and it was cold so I put on jacket with long sleeves, then it started to itch in the long sleeves part. It's like I am allergic to cotton.

Any help is appreciated.

I tried using Hydrocortisone cream. It didn't help a lot, if any at all.

maybe you should try a different washing powder. i had the same problem until i changed to a different brand. the lumps under your skin are from scratching, but the lumps themselves are from a result of an infection starting because of the scratching. best thing, if you itch, try some moisturiser, it cools your skin. good luck.

I have the same its called eczema. It is dry skin, and everyones is different. Something probably set it off ( I didn't have an eczema outbreak til I was 19) Usually to calm down the itching you have to go to a Dermatologist and they will give you a topical creme that will make the scratching abrasions go away. You will also have to do somethings to keep your skin calm : use non soap products i.e. DOVE, Neutrogena, Soft Soap Body Wash, DON'T use Cetaphil or anything like that because it just feels like slime. I use Jergens the original brand, and Dove. You can also rub aloe on your rash because aloe conditions the skin it will feel better. But after you said that hydrocotizon wasn't working I knew it was eczema cuz I went through the same thing (It's basically overly dry skin) and the outbreak was hell. Just make an appt with a Dermatologist and in the mean time take semi cold showers, lotion 2x daily, and use only gentle soaps. Ivory, Zest, and Coast are some of the harshest and you want to leave them alone. Try Dove, Caress, Tone, Oil Of Olay, or Soft Soap Body wash. Hope I was helpful :)
