I happen to be a very jealous person. I try to hold the green eyed monster back as much as i can. My G/f of one and a halks years knows this to, and she appriecates this. I happen to be in the Navy so the constant coming and going doesn't help, but our relationship can cope with it.
But there are moments of weakness when i do get jealous, and when i do it's very jealous, and normally ends up in a big argument.
Just wondering what other people do to avoid being jealous?

its a little thing called trust. the jealousy will always be there but you can control it. every time you feel that green-eyed monster tapping on your shoulder just remind yourself that you trust your girlfriend and know that she cares for you and wouldnt do anything to hurt you.

best of luck in all you do.

Just come to terms with the fact that she too has a life outside of you. Afterall you have a life outside of her, now if she is hugging a lot of guys or allowing some of her guy friends to touch her a lot or be alone with her all the time, then you have every right to be jealous, because she is probably cheating on you. Just giving you the statistic of your situation, hell my brother became a statistic, he was in the army, and his slutty ass wife cheated on him all the time and when he found out, it was over.

But you do need to talk to her about what it is that makes you jealous and ask her to work on it. If she loves you, she will understand and work on fixing it. Otherwise you might want to higher a private investigator to follow your wife when you arent there. You might just be surprised.

Trust is the only thing I know of that can counter jealousy. Being jealous means that you don't trust the person. Related to jealousy is being covetous, which means that you want something that isn't yours. For example, if you think you're girlfriend is with other guys, you're being covetous because you want her all to yourself. (Your thought about her cheating, though, may not be true - but sometimes things like jealousy and covetousness keep us from seeing the truth.) It sounds like you're already honest with her in admitting that you get jealous. Continue to be honest with her - as I hope she is with you. That open communication and care for each other should make jealousy and covetousness go away, because there will be no need for them.

well not being jelous comes with stabitlity and trust in a relationship. I get jelous too if resonable but try not to start fights and don't sweat the small stuff. it sounds like you guys need more trust and faith in eachother

Work on self esteem issues, and the knowledge that everyone has a free will, and they are not property, they work on the understanding that choice is the operative word to a good relationship, and stay focused on what real love is and it is not fear............
