i think theyre deleted

Format on a storage card or camera memory is the same as foramting your hard drive , if you format your drive you loose everything . There are programs avalible that will recover your pictures .
The links below are for software that offer a free trial period , I haven't checked them out so use at your own risk .
Im not sure what type of card if any you use but set it aside until you find a program .. there are lots out there including on limewire again use at your own risk and one other suggestion if you use an SD card slip the lock tab to the lock posititon this will insure you only can't accidently delete your pictures

Yep, you deleted the photos. That's what "format" means. You "formated" either the memory card or the internal memory.
