Okay, I learned this in, like, 4th grade but I can't remember. Let's say that someone asks you "How are you today?", there's a rule about when to use the word 'good' and when to use 'well'. For example, I think one stated something like this: If you're at a baseball game or something, you say "These seats are good" and you don't use 'well'. Confusing, I know, if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please answer!

Here's the rule: "good" is an adjective (word that describes a person, place or thing) while "well" is an adverb (a word that describes a verb, adjective or another adverb and answers the questions how, when or where). So, in using your example, "These seats are good", "good" refers to the seats - a noun. However, when you say, "I am doing well", you are not referring to the subject "I", you are referencing the verbal clause "am doing" - well. I hope this helps!

Technically, if someone says "How are you" and you say "Good," you are telling them what a good, well-behaved, righteous little person you are. But that's not the current idiom--if they say, "Good," just accept it and move on.
If you were to say "well" you'd be telling them your current state of health--you are well. But "good" does modify the noun--so you're talking about good seats--you can't have well seats, because they never get sick. (although you can perform well--tell you team they did well, not that they did good)

Well is used for health.

Good is not. Good is used for condition or state it is in.

good is an adjective, discribes a noun.
in your example"These seats are good", good discribes the seats.

well is an adverb, discribes a verb.
ex. "I feel well." well discribes how you feel.
