Could be hairballs. Is he long-haired? They sell hairball treats you can give him.

First, don't feed the cat milk or any dairy products. Second, there are a lot of artificial dyes used in cat foods. Some cats are allergic to especially the reds. Third, is there a lot of hair in the vomit? If not, head for a vet and check for worms. If there is hair, brush! Fourth, how old is the cat? A kitten may need a special formula. If the cat is old, there may be digestive problems that only a vet can treat. Finally, if the food you are feeding may be too rich or if you feed table scraps, that may be a problem. You might try getting some pure ground sirloin and broil it making sure all the fat is drained. Don't season it. Then crumble it fine and find out how kitty reacts, if he eats it at all. Sometimes canned cat food is not the best for some cats. They are sensitive in more ways than emotional. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck!

When does your cat throw up? Right after eating or later on? What does he throw up? Food, bile, hairballs? Depending on what and when can tell you alot.

If it's right after eating could be your kitty is just gorging his food. My cat does it, there's nothing medically wrong with him, the food is fine (I also switch around many types; sensitive stomach, hairball, etc.) and he'll go through phases. Vet says he probably just pigs out, eats too much too fast and it doesn't digest well because there's too much so he basically just pukes it back up.

If that's it then there's not much you can do but feed smaller portions. If it's much later after eating, not a hairball or it's clearish liquid then you probably want to go to a vet. Good luck!

How old is she? Has she been losing weight? Drinking more/less than usual? What kind of food do you give her (dry or wet)? I would take her to the vet--vomiting daily is a sign that something is wrong. You can try giving her a hairball remedy for a week and see if that helps (sometimes they can't dislodge the hairball but the remedy lubes it up and helps it move through their digestive tract). If after a week she's still vomiting, take her to the vet. My cat was diagnosed with IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease, like IBS in people) and we had to put him on a special formula (low allergen) food. He lived another 3 years in pretty good health, but I needed a vet's help to manage it. Good luck to you.

Get your cat off hard food it will not help at all. If you use a healthy canned food instead it would really make a difference. Try blending ground chicken, a little rice and some chicken broth. That is sure cure for a sick kitty tummy.

Please Please Please beware of all comercial pet food!! After doing a lot of research and learning that purina, kibbles and bits, nine lives or any pet food bought at a super market is TOXIC!!! They bring cows ( and other animals) that die before they get to slaughter and just render them into food w/out knowing why or how they died. No dog or cat needs corn and that is a big filler in most commercial dog food, it comes from horrible sources, such as sweepings off the factory floor. Not to mention the chemicals and colors they add. Dogs and cats don't need any color in their food, they just need nutrients.

If you go to the canidae (a good dog & cat food) website and enter in your zip you can find a store that can really educate you about this matter!

It is strange but I have met cats that seem to enjoy throwing up, my sister in law has a cat that was so bored from her life indoors that she throws up just for the fun of it. If you took him to the vet and there is not a medical reason you can start by getting cat grass, maybe grow it yourself, it helps cats with their digestion , they say it helps cats to throw up but I have noticed my cat having better digestion since she has been ingesting grass, less smell in her poop too.

Second, if it is a behavior issue he might be trying to draw attention from you, maybe when he throws up he gets a big fuss, you chase him, he might think it's a game. Give kitty some interesting things to do in his life, I am a huge believer that a cat should have some time outdoors, I taught my cat to walk on a leash, we go for a walk in the morning and night, I use the walking jacket so she is safe, she is a better cat for it, she is not as paranoid and bored. My sister in law did the same thing, her cat stopped throwing up almost inmediately.

But you gotta make sure this is not a medical condition, your cat might be starving from throwing up all of the nutrients he needs in his kitty life.

If your cat is long haired, try getting cat food that has hairball controller in it. Also if your cat is an indoor cat try getting a container with regular outdoor grass in it. Cats will always eat grass when their stomachs are upset and this helps with their digestion.

my cat throws up frequently also, but mainly because we have so many plants around the house. (yeah, i know, stupid cat) do you have any plants that your cat is able to find or eat etc? that may be the reason. otherwise, it could possibly be a hairball. if both of those aren't it, check it out and take your cat to the vet.

It sounds like hairballs. Is she a long haired cat?
If so, the best thing you can do is take her to a groomer and get her shaved in a lion cut. This works wonders for our cat. When he's shaved he never throws up.

Good luck!
