He has to get his kicks and jollies somehow

If you mean test us with bad things, that is not so. James 1:13-15 plainly teaches that God does not do that. It specifically says that when we are under trial, do not blame God. He does not test anyone with evil.

If you mean test us in other ways, it should be remembered that God has the ABILITY to foresee and know everything in advance. But he does not USE THAT ABILITY ALL THE TIME. Sometimes he chooses NOT to know. The Bible shows this. I wonder that people somehow never read it.

Well, I personally don't believe in God, so I think that what religious people call "God testing us" is just the hardships in life that we all face (granted, some people face more than others...but I think that they're just unlucky, or in some cases, made bad choices without thinking about the consequences).

That said, if I'm wrong, and there is a God, and God does test people, he probably does it so that they can know themselves. After all, how can you know where your weaknesses are if you're never put to the test?

Because Life is a test and when he day of judgment comes he will ask you about all you had done in your life.

Everything we do God sees and yes he is the all knowing he created life and death.

He created this world Im pretty sure he knows what hes doing

God testing us all the time, that's just away of builting your faith in him. so you don't falls for anything such as a nice house ,car or for a woman or a man. each persons has different test. the test he may give you, and me he may not give it to someone else. because some of us are stronger than others.
and some of us being with him longer than others. the longer you 've been in the present of God more stronger you have become.

God doesn't test us because he needs to know the answer. He tests us because we need to know the answer.

No need to involve a deity here. Whenever we face trials, the main benefit is in the challenge, not the resolution.

If you believe in the existence of an omniscient god, it is no stretch to believe that the god would understand this.

Its for your benifit. If you are in Christ and God allows something to happen to you, He will always supply you with way to get out of it and He will never give you more than you can bare. If you are not in Christ then the bad things that happen to you are a result of the sins that you perform.

All sin comes from Satan, so if you openly rejecet what God tells us and you paticipate in sin, then you have been deceived by Satan.

Call on Jesus and be saved.

Jesus loves you and is waiting for you.

The test is for our benefit. Spiritual growth comes from struggle with spiritual issues. Tests from G-D are a gift IN THE SENSE that they are opportunities to become more than what we presently are.

Of course God is all knowing, but we're not and that's why He puts us to test sometimes....It keeps us on our toes!

Good one.

Well let's take Job, a man worth of God. Job has great faith in God, but again his life is good, so why shouldn't he?

Satan doesn't believe that Job will be so fond of God if his life goes to crap. And by crap I mean killing his family, his staff (read: slaves), his livestock. Crushing his house, torturing him with disease and sores.

And he loves God still.

But God already knew he would, he just had to prove it to satan, who knowing God, must have known that God knew.

So in reality Satan just wanted to see how far God would let him mess with the humans.
