Your photos aren't much better than typical tourist snapshots. They lack drama, color, contrast and a focal point that draws the viewer into the scene. Try shooting the same subjects during sunrise or sunset when the light angles are low. This technique greatly increases the dramatic effect and provides a more interesting photo. Try working on your composition. Remember the one third, two thirds rule for balanced photographs. Work on your depth -- have a foreground, mid ground and background point of interest. Get close to your subject and avoid the wide aspect pictorial approach. Analyze your subject and find the single intriguing point of interest and capture it.

Its alright, there is always room for improvement. Anyone can take a shot of whales or flowers, but getting the right moment that makes the picture. Odd angles and your perceptions of things also help.

They're pretty good. Try using infrared film to take photos at night without a light source. It's pretty cool stuff. Look at shadows and faint light sources to focus on. You will always improve if you continue to work. Good luck!

I looked at the whale photos. They're good, but you really need to edit them. Some are definately better than others. Pull out your favorites. Straighten horizons on the crooked ones. And keep shooting!

to be honest, I didn't seen anything that was different from any other vacation photos. You need to work on your exposures (get to know your camera and how to get the correct exposure reading), and most of your compositions needed work. Once you get a handle on those, try to get a style that is unique. Keep taking photos and good luck.
