I am planning to get married within the next couple of Mos. I heard getting married in Las Vegas wasn't legally getting married. Has anybody gotten married there and if so does it count here in California??

Marriages In Vegas

getting married in Las Vegas, NV is legally binding as long as a marriage certificate is signed by you, the officiant, and (if necessary) 2 witnesses.
What you need to be aware of though, is that marriages are not necessarily legally binding outside of your home country. No other country is required to accept that. So for example, if you live in america but chose to get married in ireland, you may have to fill out additional paperwork to make it valid in america. So just be sure you do your homework.

When you get married in Las Vegas, with the submission of a marriage license, it is a real marriage.

YES, it is real. But in order for it to be "legal", you must file for a Marriage License. You and your future husband will have to pay about $60-$65, and give your I.D.'s, and personal info to the marriage consultant... so they can have it on file. It'll probably take 20-30 minutes!
Good Luck

YES, it is a legal marriage. It may not be recognized or count as a "real" marriage to your church, especially if you're Catholic, but legally it is a real marriage, and is perfectly valid here in California.

yes it is - it's valid worldwide. Turn up at the Marriage Licence Bureau with valid i.d. and $55 cash, get your licence, and you're free to get married in any of the 74 chapels. You marriage certificate is available for $10 ten days after your wedding (you will be given a form at the Marriage Licence Bureau to send for it).

Good luck.

Yes is as legal as getting married anywhere in the USA.

Some people get married in jeans & some people get married with all the trimmings.

Im not an immigration officer. So I don't know. Lots of people elope. But as to whether the US government thinks it's suspicious, who knows. Better have many babies soon so they don't question it.
