i'm travelling within in the next week, and i would like to know what i am allowed to bring on the plane. for example : i pod, laptop, water, ect. i will be using JFK

The only liquid items allowed are 3oz containers that fit in a quart size zip lock bag. One bag per person. example: 3 oz shampoo, mouth wash, water etc.
Electronics are allowed. cell phone, Ipod, laptop etc.

For your specific questions: Yes, you can bring an ipod and a laptop. You can bring water that you have purchased after going through security. (Note that this is for US departures; other airports have different rules.)

It depends on the airline moreso than the airport. Go to the website of your airline and they'll have a link to the rules and regulations on what can and can't be boarded on the plane.

No water or liguids! They will give you water on the plane-
Ipod is a great idea
Wear sandals as you will have to remove your shoes.
Other then that-"Sit back, relax as we are expected no turbulance today," :-)

You can't take any bottled liquids like water, even something like a bottle of hairspray they won't let you take on.
