Does anyone have any suggestions? If I wash my hair at night, it will be oily by mid morning the next day, I would like to be able to wash my hair at night if I have some place to go really early the next morning, but I don't like for my hair to feel oily! This seems like a really silly question, but is really a pain if I have to be somewhere early am because my hair is curly and straighten it, so it takes forever!! Thanks!

I use to have that problem. Here are a few ideas:

1. for one weekend - don't wash your hair for like two or three days - I know it sounds really gross, but trust me it will work. (just slick it back into a ponytail) The idea behind this is that you are conditioning your body to produce less oil. Then only wash your hair every other day. It might take a week for your body to adapt, but it should work. I only wash my hair every other day and sometimes I can get away with a third day (and people still tell me my hair looks great).

2. sleep with your hair in a pony tail on top of your head - (this is mainly to keep it off your face so it won't pick up any extra oils - or transfer any oils to your face)

3. watch what products you use and how much. if you put on too many products it will cause your hair to look oily. I suggest washing your hair, then using a spray in conditioner and comb it through your hair. After this apply your mouse or gel or whatever (be easy on the roots) and comb this through your hair - then dry it straight. for the shine at the end use just a little bit of the pomade rubbed into your hands - start at the ends of your hair and work your way up (don't apply at the roots).

I hope this is helpful.

oh - p.s. - I've tried the baby powder in the hair thing - it looks gross (and yes I dabbed it on with a poof) - I don't recommend it.

No. Do not wash your hair everyday, that is probably why your hair is so greasy. And especially do not wash it twice a day, that can cause headlice and more greasiness in your scalp.

For your hair type, i recomend Herbal Essence Dramam Clean shampoo and condtioner because its designed for oily hair like yours.
Also when washing your hair, use warm or hot water first for about 3-4 minutes and then switch to cold water. It opens pores up in your scalp just like when you wash yoru face. It prevents bad oil buildup in your scalp so that way it cant be oily anymore.

But do not wash ahir everyday, wash it every OTHER day. And once once a day too

I had the same problem until I found a shampoo that had a conditioner in it, and used it as my conditioner AFTER washing my hair with an oil remover shampoo. Using anything else made my hair get greasy looking and feeling by mid morning.
I shampoo every night using Suave deep cleansing shampoo and Pantene ProV Sleek and Smooth conditioner, rinsed well. And my hair is unbelievable!

Believe it or not, if you put a small amount of baby powder on a poof and apply lightly to your hair, no more oily hair problems. Great for those mornings that you oversleep! They used to make a hair spray that had baby powder added, but I can no longer find it.

Try changing your pillowcase every night. Oils buildup in your pillowcase. If you wash your hair at night then sleep on a clean pillowcase, should help minimize the oil buildup in your hair. Also, try minimizing the amount of conditioner you use.
Good luck!

you need a good shampoo for extra oily hair. and a special conditioner too. try a saloon i know that they're more expensive, but when you need something that works great, it's worth the extra price and you won't be wasting money on products that don't work. good luck.

well you could get a dandruff shampoo it helps with the scalp and not making it greasy you should get a haircut too and ask the salon ppl but get layers so it lighter weight dont get bangs tho it will make your forehead look gross but if you want a quick fix put some powder it the roots that will make the appearance of it look less noticeable hope i helped : ]
