I think that little is being accomplished by the continued military presence in Iraq, and that it is in the best interests of the US and our military to withdraw most of our forces.

If we want to leave a small detachment of advisors and combat engineers to help in the retraining and reconstruction, that's fine.

But even the commanders in the field admit that military force is not the answer.

When the war in Iraq began, I opposed it. But now with the current situation, and mixed advice from generals, I think it might be best to stay. Though I'm afraid that a draft Will be put in place.

I think all wars should end and that humans as a species should put the whole idea of war to rest for good. Realistically, of course, I don't see that happening in my lifetime if ever. The war in Iraq promises to continue for generations with or without our help. I get tired of hearing from those with an either/or attitude. "Pour on the troops, kick some *** and win!" or "Pull all the troops out now." I like Murtha's idea of reducing troop numbers, changing their mission from combat to support and making sure they're well equipped, well trained and well rested. I also like Biden's idea of splitting the country into Shia, Sunni and Kurdish sections. Mostly, I think any "Stay the course." mentality is ill advised. We need a flexible, adjustable strategy to deal with the ever changing conditions we face in Iraq.

I believe we need to stop prosecuting the war in Iraq as we have been doing for the past 4 years. Either we do something completely different or we need to leave today...not tomorrow...today.

No, it should continue until ALL of our tax dollars have been wasted, the country is totally bankrupt, millions are dead and we are turned into a 3d world country. There is no way for 'victory' to happen, just like Vietnam was a LOSE LOSE situation.

Rich people/corporations are sucking the money up, there should be no profit in war. Then there would be far less war.

Why don't you go ask the insurgents sense they are the ones who are at war. We are not at war.

"Every beginning has an end, and every end has a beginning," and so would the fate of the Iraqi war be!
