Good question.
The All-Mighty - with all his might - delights himself punishing people for behaviors which he implanted in them when he created them.
So he is no more than a sadist who created sin for his own pleasure.

Contrary to popular belief, God did not create everything. Neither did he create sin. Some people say sin would not exist if God had not created it. To restate it slightly for purposes of clarification, sin would not exist if God had not given mankind free will.
Free will is an amazing gift: it is the ability to choose. Since there is at least two choices involved in every situation, manifestly it is possible to choose the path that ultimately leads to behavior which falls short of God's righteous standards. That is what sin is: a missing of the mark of perfection.
A perfect person can choose to sin, as did Adam. A perfect person can also choose not to sin, as did Jesus of Nazareth. The blame does not lie with God.

Sin, first of all is "not created" by God, if He created sin it will turn out to be the greatest contradiction of His being. God is Caritas or LOVE; If God created sin; therefore God's Love is nothing but a pure act of deception.
Sin is fundamentally a consequence of humanity's abuse of freedom/free will. Adam & Eve were created in the image and likeness of God [which only means that our human nature is fundamentally GOOD & not bad/eveil as some of the commentators on this page answered]. What disrupted this nature was due to our first parents' abuse of their power [to do what they thought was necessary/proportionate in their nature].
Just think about this: if God created sin then all of humanity is tragedy! A mere deception. What then is the use of freedom? what then is the significance of sin? what then is the significance of God and the meaning of Life?

Yahweh did not create sin.
Not trying to be rude, but if a person does not have faith, in Him or His Ways; how is he or she to understand anything about Him?
In order to understand Him and His Ways, that means we also accept that somethings; will NEVER be answered by us mere humans. I do not worry about EVERYTHING, because I KNOW that He is in control. That is called "Faith". When a person is able to put aside THEIR OWN ideas, opinions, wants, or needs. Instead, they focus on what OTHERS need.
I don't care about answering all the questions, that could take centuries to uncover. Why worry about all the questions, which have no answers; at this time? Wouldn't you rather ENJOY this life, than worry or wonder about things; that are out of your control in the first place?

Sin did not exist until the rebellion against God in the Garden of Eden. When the Devil was able to coerce Adam and Eve to disobey God - that was when the first sin took place (they were sinless and perfect before that time). Since they had sinned they no longer had the ability to hand down perfection to their children (all future generations of humanity). The judgment for their disobedience was death.
Genesis 2:16,17- And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: "From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die". NWT (you can read this in your copy of the Bible).
So that is why sin and death was passed down through the human family. Sin was NOT a creation by God, it was (and still is) a result of disobedience to his commandments.
But we know that is why Jesus was sent to be the redeemer of mankind. He gives us the opportunity to be released from slavery to sin through the merits of his ransom sacrifice.

God created sin because hes testing us. Life is a test, this life is only temporary. So when we commit sin hes testing us and wants to see how we'll handle the sin. Will we ask for forgivness or keep on commiting more sins..
God created this world and Im pretty sure if he created every living thing he knows why we commit our sins and we'll be judged later for it. Hope You Understand..and I hope you find what your looking for

According to the Christian theology, the nature of man is to create sin. As the greatest example, when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of good and evil, they disobeyed God, therefore sinning. So, as an answer to your question, technically God did not create sin, the curiosity of man did.

In everything there is opposition. There can't be true good without true evil. We can't choose to do good if we don't know what evil is. The point of this life is to make good choices no matter the issue. We have the choice because without it, we wouldn't learn anything. We would all go through life just skating by and never learning a thing. Sin is needed to test us, so we have a chance to show God that we can choose His side.

if God "hated" sin (assuming God is hates the way we hate) why does he not just get rid of it - whether he made it himself or we (humans) made it. the only conclusion is that God does NOT hate sin. it allows the phenomena of choice and free will. which gives us all something to do and talk about on the internets (yes, that was on purpose).
