of 23 year old Sean Bell? Do you think that the fact that there were 50 shots, instead of maybe 10 impacts your decision, and what do you think about the 4th person who allegedly fired shots in the direction of the officers?

John, I see what you're saying - you might want to review my other questions before you get the wrong idea.
I said 'indicted' not guilty, and I'm just curious as to what people think is fair. in the end the cops will be acquitted, I'm sure of that - I'm just trying to prove my point that people always side with minorites not the law, and in 99% of the cases, the law was in the right. So wrong country, no, wrong answer, yes.

Just for all of the law experts out there that are citing my ignorance, I finished studying law at an ivy league school several years ago - so yeah, my ignorance runs wild.

I don't know the details and can't comment as to their guilt or innocence; but, if they've committed a crime. I think they should be treated as anyone else. This is the system they've sworn to uphold, now let it work like it's suppose to.

We'll see what the trial says. But I would say the number of shots is not important. They are trained to fire until the threat is gone. But as I understand from the media (and you know how accurate they are) one officer fired the majority of those shots. Reload. So who can say. My honest opinion is that the police should be done away with entirely. Since they are not allowed to shoot at a car that is trying to run them down, I guess we can conclude that society doesn't want police. I'm good with that. Don't put a guy out there and tell him his own life isn't worth protecting. Let the criminals run wild.

I think the excessive amount of firepower definately hurt thier chances of getting small prison terms, but still they are not exempt for the law and should pay for what they did, so at least 15 years in jail.

these are semi-automatic weapons, once you feel you are in danger, it's very easy to squeeze out many rounds, sometimes not even realizing it. I believe that the number of rounds used tells the story that the cops had a valid fear for their life.

This is just another tywanna brawley or whatever her name was. Just sharpton getting his press.

Why in the world are you wondering how to punish somone who has been indicted? This shows your appalling ignorance about how our legal system works.

Perhaps a better question should be, how should we execute people who sell mind destroying drugs like crack to others? How is the best way to exterminate citizens who belong to "gangs" and those who sexually assault others?

Gee..I love your thought process..I may start using it from now on.

Yeah...sure your an Ivy league lawyer...more like an Ivy league lawnmower....If you were you would have noted the improper way you stated the facts...They were indicted for allegedly shooting...you take for granted they shot him....they may have fired 50 shots...but one or more may be really bad shots....

If they did it IMPROPERLY...give them the max allowed

It's a shame they were indicted at all. It's a dog and pony show to appease the black community.

Sean bell was a scumbag with a criminal record, the police did their job.

Congrats on your education. Use it well. But the classroom cannot possibly educate you to what happens on the streets. Unless you are in the same position and circumstances as those cops then you will never know what they went through. None of us will.
