I am a little overweight and have had in regular periods but dont get any exess hair.
I have been getting little pains in the side of my tummy so i think i was ovulating last week.
Is having PCO rather then having PCOS alittle less bad.

The pains on the side of your tummy may be from cyst activity, (ie: bursting and passing through your tubes). I have not heard PCO and PCOS as different things, but you can have PCOS without having cysts as they can come and go. Perhaps if the doc told you you have PCO it means you have a cyst present. PCOS refers to the generally syndrome your body has that causes the PCO.

IT is not named correctly as far as research from the past ten years shows. It was once thought that the presence of cysts on your ovaries caused the symptoms you mentioned such as hair growth in odd places, absence of periods and infertility. Now research has proven that the cysts that can appear on your ovaries are also a symptom of something much bigger which has been termed 'Insulin Resistance'. What that means is that your body does not process sugar and refined carbohydrates as efficiently as someone without the syndrome. You should cut back on anything 'white' such as breads and pastas and anything with 'sugar', high-fructose corn syrup' and 'glucose'. Basically that means that most processed foods are a no no. Stick to the basics like meats, chicken, fish and veggies and fruits. In fact the naturally occuring sugar in fruit actually helps PCOS.
I made these changes and it worked wonders. I also took fish oil capsules, and something called Chromium GTF which helps your body process any glucose/sugar etc. that you ingest.

Hi, i had been trying to conceive for 14 months, my Doctor sent me for a scan to see if i was ovulating and there he found i have PCO, in which i have cysts. The Doc put me on the Pill, as this can help the problem but not cure it, i will go back in six months to see. I am also overweight and find it hard to lose, but must watch your diet as diabetes is popular in those who have PCO. Hope i was of a little help.
