1. Take the husk off the ear of corn.
2. Take the ear of corn, using a sharp knife, trim the stalk part off the bottom of the ear.
3. Rinse the ear with water to clean it.
4. I take a skillet with high sides and put a couple of inches in it. Heat it to boiling.
5. Take the ear and set it in the boiling water. I put a lid on the top to help steam it.
6. Turn the ear every so often.
7. I would say cook for about 15 minutes. The color will deepen in color when it cooks.
8. It should be tender when done.

Don't boil the corn. It makes the corn watery and flavorless. There are 2 ways I recommend: Barbecue or steam
To barbecue: 1. Peel back the husk, but not all the way, only about half way. 2. Butter the corn, take the stick of butter and run it up and down the corn. 3. Wrap the corn back up with the husk. 4. Place it on a hot grill for about 5 minutes, rotate and grill it for another 5 minutes.
To steam: 1. Remove the entire husk. 2. You will need to be able to cover the pot with a lid, so if you do not have a pot big enough to hold the corn, cut it in half or into thirds. 3. Place a steaming strainer in the bottom of the pan (basically, you don't want the corn to touch the water). 4 Add as much water as you can, making sure that it doesn't touch the strainer. 5. Place the corn on the strainer and cover the pot with a lid. 5. Turn on the heat and steam the corn for about 10 minutes.
Times are approximate. To be sure the corn is done, the kernels should be warm and pop in with a fork, just like corn from a can (not frozen corn, gross!). Enjoy!

The easiest way is to pull back the husks (do not remove them), clean out the silk and then rinse the corn making sure the husks get damp. Dry off the corn and spread your butter and seasoning on the corn, this step is optional. Wrap the husks back over the corn as tightly as possible (ties with kitchen twine if you have some). Put on microwave safe plate and cook on High for about 5 minutes. Turn it over and cook for 3 more minutes (depending on your oven you may need to cook it a little longer). Let sit for a couple of minutes before your serve it. This will steam your corn and is much easier to clean up the boiling it in a pot of water.
If you do several ears at one time - add 3-5 minutes for each turn of the ear of corn (so if you are doing 2 ears you want to cook for 8-10 minutes before you turn it and then cook for 6-8 minutes after).

There are several ways to cook it. You can wrap the corn (husk and all) in some plastic wrap and pop it into the microwave. Timing depends on your microwave, but I'd cook it on high power and check it after 3-4 minutes. It will probably need more time.
Another way to do it is to take the husk off and clean the silk off the corn. Drop the corn into a large pot of boiling water and cook until tender. If you have a steamer insert for your pot, you can use about an inch or so of water under the insert and place your corn on that.
Last, but not least, you can wrap the corn (with husk on) in some aluminum foil and throw it on your BBQ. Grill for about 10 minutes or until done how you like!.
Slather with butter, maybe some grated Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!!!

Does your fresh corn on the cob turn gummy and stick to your teeth? You may be overcooking it. Learn how to cook fresh corn on the cob so you don't end up with a gummy mess.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes
What You Need:
1.Large stockpot with lid
2.Fresh corn on the cob, shucked
3.Butter, margarine, or condiments of choice
Here's How:
1.Fill a large stockpot halfway with unsalted water and bring to a rolling boil.
2.Add corn on the cob to the boiling water.
3.Let water return to a boil.
4.Cover pot and immediately turn off heat.
5.Let covered pot sit undisturbed on the burner for 10 minutes.
6.Remove corn and serve hot with your choice of butter, margarine, salt, and/or other seasoning.
Tips:
Be sure the corn is fresh. Leaves should be green and pliable. The silk should be dry, not soggy.
Avoid buying corn with husks removed. It's probably old. The husk keeps it fresher.
Cook fresh corn within 24 hours of purchase.
Overcooking toughens corn.
Do not salt the water. Salt will toughen the corn. Sugar may be added at 1 tsp per quart of water, but it shouldn't be necessary.

you also can cook the corn as in above recipe but pull back the husk and add a little melted butter, black pepper, a squirt of lime and pull the husk back up, wrap the corn in foil and bake 15-20 minutes.

First of all....do not cook the corn with the green leaves on it. Remove the leaves and the stringy parts on the corn.Wash the corn under cold water.Break it in half so it is easy to place on a plate. Fill a pot of cold water and let it boil until it is bubbly hot. Drop the corn pieces in the water and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove and melt butter on top of the pieces and sprinkle with some salt. Place on a plate with meat and potatoes and you have a great meal!!

Nothing simpler. Just bring a large pot of water to a boil, then drop in the husked ear of corn. You only need to leave it in the water for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, remove trhe corn from the water. You're done.

Fill a large pot with hot water.
Bring to a boil and add salt.
Place corn ears in the water and let come to a boil again.
Let corn boil 10 minutes, then remove from pan.
Empty pan & return corn ears to pan and cover with a lid. (this will keep the corn hot until ready to serve.
