I mean why is it so low? You always have to max out the volume to hear it.

Everywhere I"ve ever lived has had a classical music station...Doesn't mean they have the best selections, though.
I love listening to Chopin, Stravinsky and Classical guitar music. So I signed up with BMG music. They have great selections, and with their point system you can get awesome cd's really cheap.
Anyway, hope that helps!

Do you mean on a radio or television? It's rare but it is played in the mainstream media. But it's something you have to go out and find. Performances are one of the best way to hear it. There are probably performances going on all around you in your town but you have to find them. Is there a university nearby? You can get a schedule of recitals and concerts from them.

My favorite way is to load some great music on my iPod and go for a walk.
