There's this guy that comes to my college campus a lot. He claims to be a born again Christian. He holds this really huge sign saying that if you don't believe you'll go to hell. On top of that he criticizes all other religions, and criticizes everyone for not being Christian. Yesterday a student told him that his dad is a pastor and said that it's against the Bible to behave like this and criticize people. The guy said prove it.
Anyone know how to stop a guy like this? Campus security has failed. No matter how many times he's escorted off he keeps coming back. Anyone know where in the Bible says what the student said?

We've tried walking away. He likes to block our way. I once even told him I was late to class and he starts ranting religious stuff to me.

Here's his level of harassment. He came on the day where all the campus religion clubs got to show themselves. He constantly harassed the Jewish, Muslim, and Buddhist clubs.
Now, even the Christian clubs are starting to not like him.

The Words of Jesus...

--Mathew 5:43-48--
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

--Mathew 7:1-5--
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

--Mathew 7:13-14--
13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

--Romans 13:8-10--
8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.
9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Next time you think he's going to come along, get a huge crowd of friends together. HUGE - thirty or forty or more if you can find that many people sick of this guy. Don't stand in a group obviously waiting, but in small little groups. Wait for him to start up with his ranting, and then gather round him. Get REALLY close, watching him closely as if you're listening to him. Then after a few minutes, on a given signal, all break into some really inappropriate song - something like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Happy Birthday or Who Let the Dogs Out. All in a chorus as he's trying to preach. Keep it up until he shuts up. Then give it another chorus. When you've finished, all turn your backs on him at the same time and walk away in silence.

He'll never come back.

All I can tell you that Galatians 5:22 says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,self-control; against such things there is no law.
If we live in the Spirit we should be walking in the Spirit also. This person may be preaching, but not by the Spirit of God.

The four gosples talk about the hypocrite pharisees that paraded around like a decorated coffin, they prayed in public and showed off their "godlyness" and they critized all the other people. Tell him his true name is a pharisee. Let him put on his fancy robes (his sign) and show off his religion. He is like the coffin, decorated on the outside and outspoken, but dead and decaying inside. He seeks attention. He thinks he is so righteouse.

How long would he stay if everyone passing by didn't even glance his way? This guy seeks attention more than converts I assure you. I suspect Jim Jones, Rev. Moon, and others were similar characters in the beginning. Don't give him what he wants.

Laugh.

And keep walking. Paying attention only feeds the troll.

Actually, my campus has a specific place where people can say anything they want. This guy would be welcome to preach, but people would just laugh and make fun of him or ignore it.

Just tell him "Not by power, nor by might" saith the Lord."

Jesus did not condemn, why is he ?

He, if a true Christian is simply to preach the Gospel, not condemn or force anyone to beleive.

Yes Become a born again Christian with more zeal than knowledge and you will be just like him.

Give him this scripture. PR 19:2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge,
nor to be hasty and miss the way.

The answer to such people is simple but difficult to stick to.
He thrives on conflict and attention deny him attention and conflict simply ignore him if he is denied conflict and attention he will search for them else where. Try and bless him in your heart but just ignore him.
