Yeah. I get that kind of thing all the time. We know how all the welfare works in the church. We know that tithing and fast offerings help with raising money to help the poor. We know there are store houses that families who need food and most other toiletries can go that is free for them. We also know about the humitarian work we do in the church, and the opportunities available for everyone to help. I just went and did 2 hours at the cannery last week. I think most people don't understand that these programs aren't just for LDS people. Anyone who needs them can go and talk to a local bishop and get help. People think we are closed people, that we don't want people to see into our little world, but we aren't like that at all!! People just need to see that we are open to helping others, and just because we want to help doesn't always mean we want to convert them. The welfare of the people is more important then what religion they are!!

Mormonism is a false gospel of works. I do not disagree that they do many fine things, but this is no plan of salvation. remember that this life is only temporary, while eternity is forever. The Jesus that the Mormons preach never existed. The salvation they offer is ridiculous. If all you want is what earth has to offer, the the Mormons are for you. If you want eternity, then the real Jesus of the Bible is what you want. It is your decision and no one can make it for you.

My husband and I were very poor at the beginning of our marriage and I became pregnant. The church helped us pay rent and give us food from the bishops storehouse until we got on our feet. Now we are financially secure and have a healthy happy daughter. Really who cares what others say. Tell them the truth and if they don't except then it's really too bad for them.

Works are good. Both for the spirit of the man and the beneficiary. Also works can be political.
How political? In the political arena we have agenda. when a person is on trial they are immediately told by their lawyer to clean up and dress appropriately to make a good impression on the judge and jury. It works! Most persons do not ask or are not shown the before and after pictures of a criminal.
The agenda is to pull the wool over the eyes of his peers giving an idyllic picture of a law abiding citizen who would do no wrong. Political.
Beneficial for the man. Does not the Word say"It is better to give than to receive" The spirit of the man prospers through selflessness.
For the beneficiary. Lives to survive another day. Perhaps lives to glorify or praise GOD in some manner. Perhaps becomes a productive citizen.
Jesus said. MT 6:2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
What is the motive behind posting many "good deeds" and the organization behind it.
Looks good to the public. Political.
Looks good to the government. Political.
Excellent tool for proselytizing. Political.
Wishing to give thanks to the organization. Spiritual and personal.
The Word of GOD says in Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
There are according to the Word "good works" prepared in advance for us to do. We had best be doing the works Jesus has provided for us to do and not what makes us look good in the publics eye. The good works Jesus wants us to do are not paraded in public to satisfy some political agenda.
The works GOD has prepared for us to do are"good works". Jesus said "only God is good." Good works are godly works.
There is no agenda or personal satisfaction involved. There is merely the knowledge and thankfulness of knowing the will of GOD has been done because one is acknowledging the grace of GOD found through Christ Jesus.
Works done through grace? or Works done by man for a political agenda? Only GOD knows for sure. !!! No!!
We can know for sure if scripture is the plumb line.Life and doctrine. The Word of GOD is the plumb line for "good works" for only GOD is good.
LK 18:19 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.

The money they give you is derived from the tithes you and others give to the church. You have to sacrifice and save in order to make ends meet and then get $$ from the hcurch.
