alright long story short, i was really good friends with this girl for a while so when she broke up with her bf i asked her out and she said yes. The only way i can make it "offical" though, is i have to ask her dad 4 permission to date her. It won't be 4 another week or so, so i have time to plan what i'm going to say. Any advice?? Should i be serious like, i luv ur daughter and she means the world to me, and so on and so forth. Or should i just have a fun convo. w/ him and then throw in a mention about dating her??

i did not have to ask her dad before i started dating her. but i did anyway. i took him to applebees for drinks and just talked guy stuff. Computers, trucks 4 wheeling and toward the end of the night i asked if it would be okay with him if i dated his daughter. by talking to him through out the evening he saw the kin do f guy i was a thats why he said yes

jsut speak honestly to her dad. Tell him that you have been friends with her for a while and have decided to take you relationship to the next level. Say that you respect and appreciate her and him aswelll, and that his(the fathers) opinion matters. Tell him that this is not a superficail relationship.....
also ask your girlfriends opion on twhat u should say.... It is HER dad!
