After a while, a couple will share moments of silence. It's actually a sign that two people are comfortable with each other when they can share moments of silence without feeling the need to cover it with talk, which is what typically happens when two people are just getting to know each other. That's what the uncomfortable silence refers to when people are just dating.

Being comfortable with silence is to be distinguished for lack of desire to talk, though. If you don't have anything to talk about and are comfortable with silence, that's one thing. A smile or a mutal look at each other says enough. If you don't want to talk, that's something else. You have to figure out which it is first before you can assess whether/what the problem is.

Yes its normal, you probably talked to him a lot already and know a lot about him already so you run out of things to talk about. You should just ask him about his day and what he did if you dont know what to talk about. And bring up some latest new song or TV show or movie to talk about.

well you and your bf might just be going through a stage. It's normal in relationships. You just have to be the one who breaks the ice. Start off with an easy conversation like, "How was your day?" "What do you wanna do?" "I like your shirt, where's you get it?" Something sweet and simple like that. He'll eventually come out of that shy shell of his. :]

It's perfectly fine to have some silence. It's just some societal bullcrap propaganda that silent moments are awkward. Many things can be said without saying a thing.
