i.e. saving yourself until marriage

Yes, yes yes!! When I see a woman with good values, I have respect for her. In this world today, there are too many selfish and immoral people. People get desensitized to bad behavior and they think it's "ok" or "normal" to be a slut.
People that hold on to their values and morals gain respect from people that are respectable, not from immoral people.

I would rather have respect from people of good quality than people who don't have any structure or sense in their lives.

Whether you save yourself for marriage is a personal matter and you do what is best for you. Whether it is valuable or not will depend on where you live in the world. If living in many western countries it will make no difference to many of us and will not change one iota how we view you. Your morals will be judged on a much wider set of criteria.

You probably get the gist that I don't believe that saving yourself for marriage and morality are necessarily the same thing. Morality is a socially defined set of rules. I know many people who are living together or have had a number of relationships over years and yet are very moral in their outlook. I also know people who are married, have had no other relationships and yet I see as immoral in their behavior to others in society.

I think it's entirely up to you and the young man involved.

Many people make a big ' show' of saying they'll wait until they're married to have sex, purity balls, purity rings etc. Then many times they don't honour those pledges.

Having sex is not a recreational sport, despite what some people will tell you. Sex is something you only give to someone when you are very sure that person is the 'one'.And that's not usually on the first date or in the first ten minutes of meeting someone. There are names for people like that in polite society.

But in our society that is also very hard to do because of the pressure of the media, friends etc.

Honouring one's morals, your's and his is a show of integrity but not something that gets you higher up in the social scale of society.

We all should be more moral and have good character in society from the loftiest political leaders and kings down to the regular people.

Well lets think about this one: if your gal does NOT care about it, then you will most likely lose her soon, because she is controlled by freak ideas that come into her mind and since she has no morals, she will not think twice. On the other hand, a girl who DOES have morals, will set limits and if she is true to the morals then she will not pass her boundaries. The chances of her cheating on you or dumping you very soon, will be smaller, if she has morals. And when she grows old and you're both ugly and wrinkled and losing the hair on your head, at least she will have morals. Because outward beauty does not last forever. So my answer would be yes, it is very valuable.

A woman with morals is much more of a turn on then a trampy type! Plus you don't lose sleep wondering if she's sleeping around on you. However, just because she sleeps with you before you are married, doesn't mean she's spoiled goods. It is much more socially acceptable to engage in premarital sex now days. Just make sure if you do intend to marry someone, that you take the time to get to really know them, so their morals are similar to yours.

Actions regarding your personal morals are something that will be with you for as long as you live. When confronted with the question of what you should or should not do ask yourself if it is something you will regret someday. Would you want your future husband or children to know about your past.

Yes because even though that girl who acts like a sl*t and will do anything for someone to like her will get a lot of attention its negative or temporary -- in the end everyone will look at you with admiration and respect.

Morals encompass a lot more than "saving" yourself for marriage.

Why would you want to do that anyway. I say see what you are getting first. "If that ain't it, don't committ."
