When I eat cheese (mostly cheddar), and when I eat live yoghurt, my cheeks (yes, my face cheeks), tingle. It feels a little like when you use a menthol face wash that makes your face feel cool. I have no other symptoms of dairy allergies. please help......

You might have allergies there. But most commonly, people get those symptoms when you have some level of intolerance to dairy products. Check with your doc, it can get worst!

I spoke with two different dairy scientists on this issue because I developed the same type of tingling sensations in my 20s. When I eat, it feels as if my face is almost sweating, but it isn't. My reaction occurs with hard or aged cheeses (blue, pecorino, romano, parmesan, sharp cheddar). I have not experienced these reactions with the soft cheeses (brie, camembert, goat). According to the dairy scientists I've questioned on this isssue (one is a phD on dairy flavors with over 20 years experience, the other an R&D scientist whose focus is dairy applications), the reaction occurs as a response to the breakdown of either proteins or free fatty acids in the human body. Its an allergy you just probably have a slight allergic reaction to it, eliminate from your diet for awhile to make sure that is what it is.
