Candle magick help please?

Question

I can understand that different colors have different...hmm...attunements? Is it also the case that different scents have corresponding attunements? If that is the case, which is the stronger attunement...color or scent? I've been using what I have available to me, a vanilla scented candle, and the aroma is pleasing to me and helps me to concentrate. Is that perhaps more important than the color/scent attunements? Or will my spells be stronger if I use a color and scent that go more with the type of spell I am casting?

Thank you to those of you who have answered my question so far - I appreciate it. Just to let other responders know, I am a Christian, although I may not believe quite the same as you. I see magick as a gift from God, and that the places in the Bible that speak against witchcraft are mistranslations. Thank you for your concern though. God bless.

Thank you Richard. I have received Jesus in my life, and I honor him. I do have the Holy Spirit in my life. And now, I use a gift that he has provided, magick. I do not expect most Christians to understand this, as they keep their eyes closed to anything but what they have been taught by their pastors and churches. I guess I forgot that church has all the answers. Oh wait...which church?

It has always been my understanding that you shouldn't use scented candles because the scents are very impure and largely synthetic, which is not going to help you at all. If the vanilla relaxes you and helps you concentrate, you should find the purest incense you can find and burn it while you are doing candle magick work. You should not have the scent in the candle because it's just not real, pure vanilla in most cases. Get some plain white candles, some vanilla incense (the purer the better) and use them together if you want the incense to help calm and focus you. Candle magick is also the stronger magick - scents just "help".

Since magic depends on intent, what matters most is what matters most to you. :-) If you're going to be visually meditating on the candle, color will probably be the primary concern. If the candle will be burning while you do something else, scent becomes more "important".

Of course, it would be best if both scent and color worked together. One way to do this is to buy unscented candles and annoint them with essential oils. Or, to burn and appropriate incense at the same time as you're burning the candle.

EDITED TO ADD: To Dinealle... magic is used in several different religions and is a spiritual practice, and therefore is a perfectly appropriate subject for discussion on R&S.

Scents usually help me concentrate on my spells. However, I just use unscented ones because most scents are aghastly strong and I can't handle it.

White - spiritual blessings, purity, healing, rest
Light blue - peace, harmony, joy, kindly intentions
Dark blue - moodiness, depression, unfortunate circumstances
Green - money, gambling luck, business, steady work, good crops
Yellow - devotion, prayer, money (gold), cheerfulness, attraction
Red - love, affection, passion, bodily vigor, luck
Pink - attraction, romance, clean living
Purple - mastery, power, ambition, control, command
Orange - change of plans, opening the way, prophetic dreams Brown - court cases, neutrality
Black - repulsion, dark thoughts, sorrow, evil, harm
Metallic gold - money, gambling luck, prosperity, success
Often two colors are used to work together to create magic - affect energies.

I don't know if you realise but ALL WITCHCRAFT is an ABOMINATION to the Lord. Any type of spirituality that does not have Jesus in the centre of it will open you up to the entry of evil spirits (demons). Don't let Satan lie to you. There are many different types of demons, but when you practice the type of witchcraft that you practice then the type of demon that will enter will be very tough to leave you, and YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THEM OUT WITHOUT JESUS.

What you need to realise is that Jesus is the only one that can save you.

You need to PRAY to God instead of casting spells on behalf of Satan.

Please listen to what I'm saying. Don't just think that your spells are harmless. Every time you cast a spell or practice anything to do with witchcraft - you give power to Satan. He gets that power from you. So whilst you think you are getting powerful, Satan is the one getting powerful by taking your life force.

So lets say you do a spell to get something. If you get that thing - you will think your spell has worked so you keep on practicing witchcraft, where in actual fact Satan has deceived you into carrying on his work, and everytime you practice witchcraft you give part of "energy" to him. So you get the thing that you cast a spell for but spiritually you are more than dead because Satan owns your soul. DO NOT LET HIM DECEIVE YOU. ALL WITCHCRAFT LEADS TO HELL.

Repent and call on Jesus, He will Save you. You wont understand this until your spiritual eyes are opened but Satan is already defeated. If you join your soul to Satan then you will go WITH him to where he is going.

Just say with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour and you will be saved. And the Satan will not be able to touch you again because The Holy Spirit will live inside you and guide you every day. The Holy Spirit is a Person and is God and lives inside all that GIVE THEIR LIFE TO JESUS

Jesus loves you, He is waiting for you to turn your back on your sins and work with Him to do Gods work.

This section is about religion and spirituality, not magick. By the way, dabbling is magick will take you to Hell quicker.
