I don't see how two separate groups like atheists and theists being against each other qualifies as "divided against ITSELF." Seems like two different houses to me.
As for the table, let's just sit in a circle together.
One big, big circle.

Yes, I think once we get past the hatred and the misconceptions about one another we can find similarities and common ground to stand upon.
A house divided against itself is referring to the disposition of your heart and how you cannot serve to masters, like money and love for example. It's not talking about having friends and sharing and learning about beliefs that are different from yours.

I hope there is a place at the table for everyone, I have learned much from this little town.
I often feel like the kid from across the street that has been unofficially adopted by the neighbors.

I think we all should love one another. To talk with someone and try to understand, they are great things for the common good and for the peace. Sometimes we just need to agree to disagree, I would not sacrifice my eternal destiny for a place in the table.

Yes, the world would be a much more peaceful place if all religions could accept one another. I believe in God, but I do not believe in a religion, because it is very unlikely that one religion "has all the answers" and the rest are "in the dark."
But sadly, most modern religions teach that other religions are inferior, so that harmony cannot exist with the current state of religion.

Of course, there is a place for everyone but endless discussions are not constructive and there is bound to be trouble as theists behave according to their faith and atheists according to their lack of faith.
Have you ever tried to put together a cow and a horse and plough with them?
That can't be successful now, can it?

Christianity is the house that Jesus Christ built, and in spite of some of the divisions between men, the Church remains united in Christ.
Atheists have no place in that "house" unless they choose to accept the God who built it.
The door is always open.
Otherwise, you're on your own.
