The only 'license' that has anything to do with firearms in CA is a concealed carry permit and in Sandog those are as rare as hens teeth.
The only license you need for a shotgun in CA is a driver's license as ID when you buy it. You don't need to register it. You don't need a license. You don't need to give DNA samples and leave a child with them as surety.
The only restrictions on buying apply to assault weapons and hand guns. No assault weapons and to buy a hand gun you need a handgun safety certificate. Anyone with an IQ over 80 can pass the test without even reading the leaflet CA publishes.
You people know NOTHING. Keep your thoughtless and bad advice to yourself!

No, just bring it to California, that's if you have not already done so. It's perfectly legal to import a shotgun into California. Unless, it's a magazine feed with 10+ rounds, you will be fine. In that case just replace the magazine with a 10 round magazine. I live in CA and have bought 3 shotguns. No permit is required to purchase or import one. Handguns, I do believe need to be registered if being imported into the state.

The 2nd amendment to the Constitution says..." the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
But since Kalifornia is basically a free standing communist state you probably need a license to pee more then twice a day. So yes you may need a license. Contact your local NRA office, they can help you with the legal stuff and they can get you signed up and you can help vote out the hard line commies in charge.

I don't think you need a license to own a shotgun in the People's Republic of Kalifornia (don't give them any ideas though).
