It is my fiancee & my custodial time to have his 10 year old son this weekend. We just got word that he is being picked up from school for vommitting. Our thought is that we have 2 younger children in our home that we wouldn't want to expose them to it, but we don't want to lose that time with him. Is there any way to prevent the stomach flu for ourselves & our younger children? Please let me know. Thanks.

yes washing hands constantly will prevent. Also, have your sick child have bed rest with clear fluids. May also try BRAT diet: banana, rice, apple, and toast.good luck!!!

I don't think there is a way of preventing it. If it is going around the schools and your younger children are in school they probably have already been exposed to it. The best thing to do is encourage handwashing with the younger children and if he is still vomiting when you pick him up this week-end try to keep him away from the other children. I wish I could of been more helpful.
