Yes a hairstylist can do it for you. If you dont have bangs already and you want then done right I'd suggest going to get them done professionally so they're not cut too short or whatever. You just take a section of your hair from the front and you make sure its even and then you just cut to the length you want. Always cut it at a "safe" length like cut it longer then you think you might want it and then if its good its good, if you want it shorter then cut alittle more off. If you want like sidebangs or whatever, get it done by a stylist first before you attempt it yourself. If you really dont know what to do or how to get this or that go and watch how they do it and ask questions and then maybe try it yourself.

Definitely go to the stylist. I have always had trouble getting them even when I tried to cut them myself!
Make sure you know what type of bangs you want. Do you want wispy bangs? Do you want angled, face-framing bangs? Do you want the straight-across schoolgirl bangs? The choice depends on your personal style and hair type. Your hairdresser can also give you advice on what might look good on you.
Basically, to cut bangs, you just part your hair straight (ear to ear, not front to back) and pull the hair you want cut in a bang forwards over your face. This is easiest if wet. Then cut across, do not cut them shorter than eyebrow length!!!!!! You can cut as little or as much as you want for thin, wispy, or thick bangs. Also, razor cut bangs layer nicely around the face if that is what you are going for.
Good luck, hope you find the right style for you.

Are you planning on doing it yourself? Or going to get it done. Because, if you are planning on going to get it done, you should bring with you picture of how you want it done. There's many types of bangs, and you have to figure out which will look better with your face. If you have a longer skinnier face, i would suggest getting straight bangs. If you have a shorter, wider face, I would suggest side bangs. They seem to make your face appear longer. If you want to do it by yourself, only do it if you are sure you know how to. I cut my own hair, and I'm pretty good but I still won't cut my own bangs. It's too much of a risk. I don't know if that helps at all but i hope it does.

If you're scared to do it yourself, go to your hair dresser. Basically you part a square/rectangle. Make sure hair is wet and straigh and cut straight up to where you want them. You can also pull the hair towards the middle, that will make the sides a little longer than the middle Or you can pull to left , cut, then pull to right and cut that will give you layered bangs. For this you can also use a blade and sort of "shave the tips".

You just go to the salon and ask them if you can get bangs. If you have certain kinds of bangs you want then just ask them for that kind of style.
