I'm 25 and just came out of an 8 year marriage (yes I was young and stupid when I tyed the knot). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can meet new friends, lost my old ones when I got married.

no single girls at my work (engineering company 90% men). The church I (sometimes) attend is full of my parents friends :)

I'm in a similar situation and i'm loving every minute of my new-found freedom! I work quite long hours and it's great just getting back to my own flat, sticking on the tv and putting my feet up, reading, listening to music, meeting up with my mates, phoning my mates etc. I usually spend most of the night on my PC, and yeah i do miss cuddles and things, but i'm much happier now than when i was in the bad relationship there. As far as meeting new friends is concerned - can you meet people through people you work with? I've gone out for drinks with my work colleagues and met new people. Get in touch with your old mates again through the friends reunited website. Good luck!

if you work with any single girls ask them what they do on the weekends or ask them to do something. start going to the gym, or put your self where people your age hang out. be friendly and open minded. do not rush into another relationship right off the bat, you need to find yourself first you missed out on a lot marrying so young.

go to college part time and do something you enjoy, join a gym, ask some girls from work if they fancy a drink one evening, call up a cousin or something and ask if they fancy a girls night out - chances are they will suggest bringing along a friend or two.
good luck!

Once your wheel begins to turn it will take on a snowball effect. Keep making an effort to go out. Before you know it friends will be a plenty.

Don't worry about it. Singlehood can be a very desirable state. Focus on your work (and good for you for breaking into a male-dominated profession), your hobbies, and making new friends. If you must date, make it one of your lowest priorities.

Look forward, never back. Do whatever YOU want to do. Hit the social scene with the girls from work. Adopt the motto "Hello, welcome to MY world". Good luck.x
