Try making eye contact often and when he gives you contact back, softly bite the corner of your bottom lip, smile and look away! also try and get some type of alone time with him and just let your body language do the talking for you!

Flirt. Or just have a casual conversation with him one day and ask "Have you ever thought about me as more than a friend, I was just wondering."
That way you can get kind of a feel as to how he sees you, without really letting on that you like him.

Maybe you should try being alone with him more and flirting with him. Ask him to hang out one day, just the two of you. Then see where that leads.

Don't worry about impressing him, it will all happen by itself.
If your a good friend he might start getting different feelings for you.
