Some people do get bad scarring from acne. But very few.
Actually, the idea that the red spots from picking are scars is a bit of a misconception. They will not be permanent, and will fade, however it takes a few months for them to do so.
As hard as it is, you have to try not to pick your pimples. If you just ignore them, no matter how bad they get, they will not only disappear faster, but they will not leave marks.
