You need to do you homework on this one. A lot of the famous cocktails have strange ingredients like burnt orange rind, grenadine and fresh cream. You also need a cocktail shaker and crushed ice for a lot of them.
Stick with the simple ones. Start with what you already have (vodka, gin - whatever), then have a look online for the best sounding recipes.
There are loads out there. Good luck.
If you have some fresh fruit to slice and some nice glasses, you can make pretty much anything look presentable.

well its WINTER. There are many fun summertime--refreshing cocktails. Winter is good for red wines. Merlots, cabernets--that is what I would reccommend--& keep the yummy refreshing Cosmopolitans, Appletini's---all the ___tini's for summer--atleast spring. Maybe now a nice Irish coffee, hot whisky, or a simple good bottle of wine.

Try making a new one! Guests can concoct different ones around a certain type of liquor...like have Tequila...and see if you can make a new drink!
Give your party a theme....like "Southern Comfort" Have Bourbons and various mixers (sugar for Juleps, branch water, etc.)
Look at the website below (Cocktail.com) for recipes and ideas...but here's a hint...go simple. You don't want to spend your whole night mixing...you want to drink some, too!
