Tonight I am attending a dinner party, the only thing is I have to cook, so I was wondering what to cook, I came up with something but I don't know if it would taste too good?
I was going to do like a salad, with like baby spinach or some sort of fancy lettuce, all the usual veggies and with some chicken tossed in the salad, if you think this is a good idea, could you please say so, if you don't do you have any other ideas, also don't make them too elaborate, because I'm not world's best chef!
Thanks so much!

You know, a really easy impressive salad to make that usually all enjoy is Caesar salad. Sounds like you have chicken-if you can grill it or buy it grilled would be best. For dinner portions, estimate 1 head of romaine per guest (you should strip off the tough outer leaves). Tear into bite sized pieces (like the size of your palm). Put in a big bowl. when your guests are seated(this salad gets soggy if you toss it too soon) put in the bowl enough dressing to coat the leaves lightly. use tongs to arrange in an attractive heap on chilled plates. Top with oversized garlic croutons and fresh shredded parmesan cheese, then the chicken. serve with warmed up french or italian bread and flavored olive dipping oil or soft butter. wine.
I just re-read your question. If you have to transport and serve pot-luck style, toss lettuce, chicken, croutons, and parmesan in bowl and bring dressing with you to put on before people eat.
>>>about caesar dressings- Cardini's is the brand the Olive Garden uses (this is insider info) and i think Newman's creamy caesar is second best

Were you asked to bring a passing dish? If so, a salad without meat would be great. Add some blue cheese crumbles to your lettuces, pinenuts, and dried cranberries and toss. Buy a bottle of raspberry vinegarette dressing to take and wait until ready to eat to toss dressing with salad. Nothing to do. Very easy and delicious. Good luck.

that sounds good, or you could slice up some strawberries with a spinach salad and a vinagrette to make a great tasting salad! One food my family always took to dinner parties was greek salad : Romaine Lettuce with cherry tomatoes, Feta cheese, black olives and greek dressing. It always was a hit!

It sounds fine- were you asked to bring a salad or a main dish? If you were asked to bring a salad then the chicken might be overkill. If you want it to be closer to a main dish then prepare it as you suggest and add some of those canned chinese noodles to the top before serving. Also, get a ginger or Asian salad dressing to serve with it.

my favorite is Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken INGREDIENTS 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 3/4 cup honey 1/2 cup prepared mustard lemon pepper to taste 4 slices bacon, cut in half 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place the chicken breast halves in a baking dish, and drizzle evenly with honey and mustard. Sprinkle with lemon pepper. Bake chicken 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Top each breast half with 2 bacon slice halves, and sprinkle evenly with cheese. Continue baking 10 minutes, or until chicken juices run clear, bacon is crisp, and cheese is bubbly.

sounds yummy.
A raspberry dressing would taste great on that. Just go to the grocery store for the dressing, put it in another bottle or a mason jar, and tell eveyone that you made it. what they don't know won't hurt them ;)
hope that helps!
