you can keep cooked food in the fridge for up to 3 days then you should throw it. you can still use uncooked food after its best before date, but if it has a use by date you should try and get it used up by that date. if its raw and doesnt smell too good throw it out. if you dont intend to use it for a while then you could always freeze it rather than putting it in the fridge.

Cooked food- I would say 3 days max. Raw foods like meat should have a date on them, if not use your eyes and nose, if it's brown or smells off, chuck it out. As for veggies, they can last a week or more in the crisper, it depends upon how fresh they were when you got them. There again, you can probably tell from eyes and nose- still firm? not brown or smelly?, then should be ok.

It really depeneds on what it is. Some foods last longer than others. It also depends on the temp. that you have your fridge set too. Sometimes if it is to cold your veggies will go bad faster.

Everyhting is different. Anything you buy will have a sell by date. That is the date to sell by, especially fresh foods, meats, eople say you have a week later. As for me I just go by the sell date, maybe a day later--I am picky. Things in bottles, all have good until____. So check each item INDIVIDUALLY.

Until it gets mold or old.If you want to know how to tell if it's old or not there should be a date on what ever food it is.

there is no rule. Honey will last just about forever...even if you don't refridgerate it. lunch meats might last a little over a week.
