Why is dried fruit so fattening, even when it has no added ingredients?

So much more fattening then just a regular piece of fruit

If you're eating dried fruit that has no added ingredients like sugar (which many have), the serving size you see is likely to blame. A dried fruit's serving size may say "3 or 4 pieces" which is like 3 or 4 pieces of regular fruit.

So it's nutrition dense in a smaller package. Not necessarily higher in calories on a one to one basis..

Make it yourself. get a food dehydrator! Probably like $25-$35 you can use it forever. No more buying pricey dried fruit with preservatives, etc. Exact fruit in your fruit bowl, you are adding NOTHING, just drying it--YUMMY too!
