I know that most of you are different, but i just want to get an average kind of approach or hints that you may give off. or what you would do in certain situations such as...if the girl looked at you from across the room, if the girl started to talk to you, if the girl was talking with other guys, if the girl was sad alone or with friends

yeah just give personal experiences

I just LOVE shy guys and I love it when they try to get my attention! Here's my suggestions to shy guys:

Ask her how her day's been going; ask her if she did anything special over the weekend; ask her what she thinks of her teachers; what bands does she like?

Then make it a point to remember her answers! Because remembering shows you care! If I say that I am stressed out because Mr. X (my teacher) is mean and then, a few days later, the guy asks if Mr. X has lightened up any or if he's still a hard @ss, then I know that this guy's paying attention to me and is concerned about my issues.

Compliment her on her clothes or perfume or jewelry. When a guy says to me "Wow, red is really your color!" I appreciate the compliment.

I am sorry for butting in, but when I saw your question... Well, I'm not a shy guy... I am a woman, but the answerers made me a little sad. We NEED shy guys in this world. The problem is, they attract the most NOT SHY girls, and end up being brow beat, or taken advantage of. Not always, but many shy guys are just sooo nice. Most young girls are not ready for 'nice'. I can't figure out why though. I was the same way when I was young. NOW, I have a whole different perspective of shy guys, and they are to be treated with the utmost respect, especially considering the way most guys are otherwise. Thank you. All you shy guys - you WILL get the best! Hang on to your shyness, and don't bother trying to be 'cool' in the eyes of the other guys. They all toopid anyway. ;oP

I am a shy person when it comes to girls, and I'd hate to say it but your question answered itself. Shy guys don't obviously show girls that they like them. I like to stare at girls, but when they turn my direction I usually turn away. We are too shy and our biggest worry is rejection. We worry that any type of approach might result in rejection and we fear how things might go. This is why we kind of hide in our shells.
If a girl looked at us across the room, we get scared because we hate to assume things. We continue to live life until we are sure that she likes us.
If the girl started to talk to us, it takes time for us to open up to her... but don't get me wrong, we love it when girls just come up and talk to us because it shows us that they are interested. Shy guys have low confidence and it's hard to make new friends that are girls.
You have to make the first move because we definitely won't.
Anyway good luck!
