I currently have my AA degree in Business administration and am interested in Joining the Navy. I was told you must have a BA to join the officer program, and that is all I am interested in. I am thinking about continueing my education to try and get my BA in Business in a little over a year and then going for the Navy. In the Navy though, I am actually interested in becoming a nurse. I would like to get my BA in nursing, but would like to do it in the Navy. If I joined, would I be placed based on my business degree or would I be able to get into health care as I work on my degree? I'm little stuck on what to do.

If you enlist your degree will have nothing to do with the jobs you are offered. Everything is determined by the scores you get on the various areas of the ASVAB aptitude test.

You will never get a BS in nursing while on active duty. You will not be allowed the time off for the required clinical work.

Contact a navy officer recruiter, NOT a regular enlisted recruiter. Ask about programs where the navy will repay student loans for registered nurses. If they still do it then go back to college and get your BSN and come in as an officer after graduation.

a Business degree will not be competitive for an Officer slot in the Navy. If you want to go Nursing, then get your Nursing degree and apply afterwards. There is a program whereby you can go to Nursing school on the Navy's dime, but it is VERY hard to get into.

Only Health Care degrees will net you a position in the Medical Community. you must have the BSN to be offered a Commission into the Nurses Corps.

It relies upon even if you must bypass enlisted or officer. With a 4 year degree, you may develop into an officer. i am going to spare the information, that would not pertain. As an enlistedman, you may develop right into a corpsman. The military's medics. A corpsman can artwork on ships, in hospitals, and so on. and so on. they may also develop into SEALs and be the platoon's medic, or also be an FMF corpsman (The Marine Corps' medics, the USMC does no longer have any.) Reverting back to the 'ordinary' military after starting to be a SEAL? i have no longer heard of it being finished earlier, now to not practice someone desirous to do it. so a procedures as exams bypass, you would ought to take the ASVAB earlier starting to be a member of, and score nicely adequate specifically parts to be eligible to develop into between the SEALs source rankings, (i.e. HM, GM, ET, and so on.) i'm particular all that options should be straightforward adequate to discover. except that, you would bypass as well camp, then bypass to 'A' college... it is your score college. After that you'll be able to attend distinct 'C' faculties, for more beneficial truly good preparation. I say may, as no longer each body does. From there, you would follow to BUD/s. i'd make certain that's on your settlement earlier starting to be a member of. Now that's in undemanding words one thanks to do it. there are distinct 'source expenditures' that can develop into SEALs... basically %. one. A recruiter may be able that could actually help you many more beneficial than I. in case you want to develop right into a doctor, i'd refer to an officer recruiter about entering right into a software the position they could pay for medical college, and also you'll serve some thing like 8 years after graduating as a doctor. I fantastically doubt you may ever see wrestle as a doctor, and that i'm no longer even particular that you'll be able to stay with to BUD/s... yet I even do no longer know how officer detailing works. medical doctors are officials, corpsmen (medics) are enlisted. i'd connect with a set plan. i'd say this: pick even if you must be a doctor, or a SEAL, you'll likely have a really not straightforward time doing both, if that's even plausible. in case you fail out of BUD/s, you may finally end up chipping paint for 4 years, by ability of ways. it easily relies upon what's on your settlement, and the purposes of the military on the time. (And sure, maximum do fail. you may nicely be able to attempt back later on.)
