Ok peeps, just sitting down thinking to myself, when I thought of something. You know the old, yet popular at the time, series Pokemon, and what a big thing it was back then, do you think the merchandise of it will still be available from sellers from ebay, amazon, etc in say....5 years to come? I recently searched merchandise from the well-known series of the past 'Thunderbirds' and found an extremely large amount of it! is this the same with everything?

oh by the way im talking more about toys and games, etc as opposed to the movies :-)

Easily - You will be able to get hold of them with ease in 5 - 10 - 15 yrs and beyond.
I'm a comic / toy collector and you would be AMAZED at the stuff you find over & over again.
I've come across British comics from the 1970's & 1980's that have had short runs time and time again.
Pokemon will be more so as people are aware that they "Hang on to things it will go up in value"
The issue will be the TYPE of stuff that you are after. Remember RARE items now, will be EVEN rarer in the future.
Also (if you are buying) to keep an eye out for when pokemon starts to fade from the shops / general interest - Then there will be a flood in the market as kids get rid of them, either in an attempt to raise cash for something else or because they get taken down to the charity shop by mum.
You will be amazed at the amount of origional star wars toys that were sold off at car boots etc for a few pence that are now worth a fortune.

I think pokemon stuff will still be about and available on 5 years time.
I go on ebay all the time and can still find toys that i had as a little girl that are now collectables. For example the Bionic woman doll i had as a child you can get on ebay gor 60 pounds.

yeah cuz wen things get old and r not around they r more valuable!
but i still beleive pokemon will be around for more yrs to come cuz i heard that japan is making some new movies!

Yes, when you say "merchandise", do you mean the video games or the toys and stuff?
