As it is the final meal, I would go the whole hog ,and have everything I could.
Because I have to watch what I eat for health reasons.
This way I don`t have to worry about watching my health anymore.
I could enjoy eating all the things you are told to leave alone, and make my own way to the heavens, without their help.
What a way to go, certainly my way,
But would be sensible ha ha and have

Giant T.Bone Steak with all the Trimmings no holding back.
Giant Chocolate Forest Gateau.
Irish Coffee
Cheese Board and biscuits
Chardonnay wine at least a couple of bottles
Bottle of Baileys
After mints
(wouldn`t feel a thing)
LOL

I think as long as it is the last meal I would really splurge, I mean who cares about the calories rght? I would start out with a lovely salad with baby lettuces, a little red onion, some grape tomatoes and cut up lobster tail with a balsamic vinegrette dressing. Next would come the fillet mignon wrapped in bacon with a loaded baked potato and broccoli florets steamed with a litttle garlic butter drizzled over them. For dessert it would have to be a really light and creamy tiramisu. Wow now I am hungry!

I don't really mind what I eat, for me it's all about context; I'd like my last meal to be fed to me by my wife of 70 years; It'll be eaten off crockery that was a wedding gift from our best friends and which is being used because they are visiting at the time.
If I had to say a specific meal, I would probably say something seafoody, which has been freshly caught from the Bahamian sea which laps onto the beach onto which our beautiful house is set.

Something like that would do nicely :)

How would I know it was to be my last meal?

I suppose the usual is because Albert Pierrpoint is sitting outside practising his knots, I'd like anything with two whole heads of garlic in it, then I could breath on poor old Albert.

If it was because I was terminally ill, I would want a meal laced with belladonna just to save myself the embarassment of waking up and having to go through it again.

This is a real simple question with an even more simple answer. I would no doubt have an all you can eat buffet. If you think about it for 2 secs you would understand the reason. If you are eating an all you can eat buffet than it is certainly going to take you much longer to finish your meal than someone who just ordered one en tree. What do you think about that? Sounds pretty slick not too mention it makes all the sense in the world to me. I hope you like this answer enough to select it. Take care honey

I would have spinach manicotti with marinara sauce with a salad (made out spinach, tomato, avocado, carrots, cucumbers, and cheese), fresh french bread (with a choice of butter or garlic butter), mashed potatoes with lots of butter, and an ice cream cake for dessert. I would drink strawberry lemonade and a midori sour fo that extra kick. I would invite all of my favortie friends and family members to eat with me so that I can enjoy their presence with my food. The company often makes the meal perfect.

I would eat all of these foods because they are my favorites. I love all of them and would want to savor every bite since they are to be my last. I would share it with the people I have chosen so that I can tell them all why they are special to me and how much I love them.

Good question. I love answering questions like these.

I think I'd go along the line of Carly071 thinking.. only I would make a list of my favorite foods( a book full) and travel to each place the dish originates from to have it prepared. Italy for pasta, China for Pekin Duck, Japan for sushi, Poland for pierogi... etc. That would take at least 30 years. LOL

Starter; A huge American style prawn cocktail with at least 10 jumbo Madagascar tiger prawns

Orange sorbet from Paradiso el Inferno (Strand, London)
as a pallet cleanser between courses

Fish course; a revised version of Shrimp Pererra made with Sea Scallops

Main course;
either Surf &Turf. Using my personal recipes for grilled lobster tail and a perfectly cooked medium-rare delmonico (rib-eye) steak

Sides would including mushroom/asparagas/lemon-thyme risotto, savoy cabbage, braised with lardons in butter and finished with cream, home-roasted squash puree with butter, brown sugar, black pepper and nutmeg

Desserts are a different affair. I have so many that I love that to have to boil it down to just one is nearly impossible. So, it would be a selection of each of the following;

Peach Melba; made with a beautifully presented partially frozen fresh peach half, filled with fresh made cornish ice cream and a warm raspberry sauce over all

AND

a thick, gooey dark chocolate brownie (NO NUTS!) with at least a full inch thick layer of bournville chocolate buttercream icing on top

AND

finally, a rich and darkly sweet Cartmel Toffee sponge pudding, baked with an extra helping of Cartmel Toffee sauce and a lovely dollop of cornish ice cream

Hopefully, after all of the above, I will simply expire with the sublime sense of how wonderful it all was!

What about you Falco? You didn't tell us what yours would be...

Cheers

If I knew it was going to be my final meal I would be too upset to eat. I would eat something light such as chicken soup. I would not want to die with a full stomach. However, there could be a loophole. I could eat as many Hostess products as I could such as Twinkies and Ding Dongs. The additives in them could keep me well preserved for years.
