The most delicious stew I have ever had was Guinness stew from an irish pub in my town. This is a recipe for it from the Guinness website:
Guinness Beer Stew:
1 kg dice beef
¼ kg dice onion
¼ kg dice celery
¼ kg dice leek
¼ kg dice carrot
2 tbsp. gravy browning
Pinch Mixed herbs
¼ LB butter
¼ LB. Flour
4 Lt Beef stock
Seasoning
½ x Pint GUINNESS® beer
Method
Sweat all vegetables in the butter for 5-6 mins.
Add dice Beef and cook for5-6 mins.
Add herbs and then flour.
Add beef stock slowly over heat while stirring, cook for another 5-6 mins.
Add gravy browning and season sauce.
Slow cook for 1- 1/2 hours.
Finish with ½ pint of GUINNESS® beer and stir.
Season and serve with champ potato and roast carrot and parsnip.
This should give 8-10 portions.

When I do stew it could not be easier!!
I just dice my veg(I dont measure anything! Just as much as you think you can eat!!!) - onions, carrot, swede, spuds, mushrooms and tomatos, chuck the diced beef in (no need to brown it first) then make up stock with 2 oxo cubes and fill the jug with boiling water - i believe it is a half pint jug!
It all goes in the slow cooker with salt and pepper and let it cook for 8 hours.
If you want to thicken it up, i just shake in some gravy granules 10 mins before serving
We have this twice a week, i chuck it all in in the morning, by the time i come in from work it is gorgeous and soooooo easy!
for me cooking anything has to be simple, i work long hours and work hard, also my partner and i only have 3 hours together in an evening before he goesout to work on nights and so i like to make the most of it, not slave over the cooker!

I like to fry stew meat in olive oil with onions and spices. Then put it in a pot with 2 cans of tomatoe sauce, 1 can diced tomatoes, green beans, carrots, corn, & potatoes. Let that cook for about 45 minutes until potatoes are soft then add some macoroni noodles and cook it until the macaroni is done. Tip...dont add too much noodles it takes away from the rest of the stew and make sure you add water or there wont be any juice. Sounds yummy...I think i will make stew for dinner!!!! :)

I made the tastiest stew last night. I'm eating it now for lunch and it still tastes great re-heated.
What you'll need:
Family size can tomato soup
Celery
Carrot
Corn
Beef
Red Potatoes
Garlic cloves
Garlic salt
Pepper
First- Fry your meat up. Break up the meat but leave the chunks somewhat large, about the size of a nickle or quarter.
Season meat with garlic salt (and pepper if you'd like). When it is almost done put in some finely chopped garlic and cook until meat is finished.
Second - Chop vegtables. You want to chop red potatoes into quarters and then each quarter into quarters. If you buy baby carrots you can chop up a handful of them. Also slice straight across in thin peices about 2-3 stalks of celery.
Third - Put in tomato sauce. Fill tomato sauce can a little over half way full with water and pour in. Then put in chopped vegtables. Put in one can of corn (drain before putting in). Put in some garlic salt and pepper.
Fourth - Cook until carrots and potatoes are soft. (I made mine in crockpot on high, took about 5 hours But can make on stovetop or crock on low).
And that's it. Really is great!!

I use bison meat.
Cut into bite size chunks, dip in flour and then brown the meat in a pan. Cook up some onions and put the meat and onions into a crock pot. In the browning pan, pour a little red wine or beef broth and scrape up any flour and stuff on the bottom to add into the crock pot. Put in some diced potatoes and carrots. Add some more beef broth, a bay leaf, some crushed garlic and any other spices that appeal to you.
Cook on low for five to six hours. Add a little flour to thicken the broth and enjoy.

Beef Stew..
I cook either my stew meat..or I will cook a beef roast till it falls apart..If your going to make it for tomorrow..You might crock pot it overnight so the beef will be ready..Add a couple of bay leaves..
Use the broth off of the meat to make a nice gravy..I make it as I would a brown gravy..using whorshire sp? sauce to taste..
I usually boil my potatoes, onions and carrots separate..
Put the beef, cooked potatoes, onions and carrots in the gravy..Add your vegies..green beans, peas, corn and a can of chopped tomatoes..
Makes a perty big pot..But I make it of a morning and let them eat on it all day at their leisure..

Pearl barley, a stew isn't a stew without pearl barley. Use some nice stewing steak, carrots, leeks, shallots, pearl barley, tin of chopped tomoatoes, stock and a garlic clove. Don't forget the dumplings and a splash of red wine too!

If perhaps it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
