The city I live in used to have a "cross busing" program to promote intergration in the school system. It ultimately failed...our city is still segregated among racial and class lines...
But what if there was a cross busing program for churches? For example a baptist church in a poor neighborhood traded a few members from a rich neighborhood and vice versa? Not just to bring a little extra money in for impoverished churches, but to help with the social networking aspect of it. The poor people would get to know people who have access to decent employers where they could get reccomendations...
Do you think the people in your church would go for it or would be afraid to participate?
