Brown Sugar Chocolate Crackle Cookies
INGREDIENTS
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
DIRECTIONS
Melt the chocolate chips and combine with the brown sugar and vegetable oil. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well. Stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the chopped walnuts. Chill dough for a few hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.
Drop teaspoonfuls of dough in confectioners' sugar and roll to coat. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cookies cool on racks.

Aunt Frieda's Brown Sugar Cookies

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon salt
PREPARATION:
Mix together brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, oil, and milk. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir dry ingredients into the sugar and egg mixture; fold in chopped pecans.
Form into balls and press lightly on greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.

just use 1/4 cup Wesson oil instead butter/shortening

the only right consequences would be as written interior the recipe. Altho butter, margarine and shortening are interchangable in recipes there's a distinction. Margarines have water in them so as that they unfolded better than the cookies with butter or shortening will. understand that margarines and shortenings are Trans fat!
