So I thought this guy, who is a year older, liked me and showed many signs of liking me- fliting, smiling, checking me out, talking to me, waiting for me after class, but I heard from my friend's friend that he liked another girl... what is going on???

If it's true it's called "playing the field"......one is good, two is better. Since you appear to be no further than talking and heavy smiling what difference does it make. NOW, if he were to be dating you that would be totally not acceptable..........and watch out for friends, many want to see other people's joy turn to tears.

It is not unnatural to be attracted to more than one person. I am a guy. To me there is nothing more sexy than confidence. If you like this guy, go for it. You can't lose what you ain't got unless you keeping sitting on the sidelines. But be classy about it.

This is exactly what I'm going through. I told him how I felt and even though it didn't work out, I'm much happier knowing how he feels. Better to have loved and lost then to not loved at all.
