My 2 year old absolutely loves scrambled and boiled eggs, but I do not know how many he should have over a period of a week. I know that they are very high in cholesterol and bad for anyone with diabetes but know one seems to have a consecutive answer, help

I don't know the exact amount, but that many eggs can't be good for a 2 year old. They do have lower cholesterol egg products in the supermarket that you can use or you can use just egg whites.

Personally what I do to cut down on the cholesterol is take about 2-3 ounces of medium or firm tofu for each egg and blend them together in a blender, mini food processor or use an immersion mixer. When it's smooth, you cook it up just like scrambled eggs.

You don't taste or see the tofu but you get added protein and soy benefits and half the cholesterol you would get with an equal amount of 100% egg.

When i was a toddler i use to love eggs too. My parents cooked eggs like 5x a week out of 7. For breakfast. When i was 18 i found out i had high cholestorol. I was advised to stay away from all dairy products, fried foods and chicken skin.
I advise you to only let your child eat no more than 3 eggs a week.

Egg Beaters is cholestorol free and in the freezer part of the grocery. He can eat egg beaters everyday.
Good Luck.

There is no allowed. Eggs which when I was a lad had good press, have had bad media coverage for years. This is now beginning to ease off, and a few of the current egg adverts are quite good. A boiled egg is only 84 calories and 10% fat, which is not bad at all. Course if you fry it in lard and serve it with fried bread things get a bit dodgy!

What ever I eat my cholesterol level stays at 3. My wife's level increases from 5 to 7 if she eats more than 4 a week. It all depends on the body and how it copes so one cannot generalise. Never heard that it was bad for diabetics and I am one.

it would be best if you ask your pediatrician, but i eat about 18-24 a week. okay i am a big guy and i work-out.
i don't think 2 or 3 eggs a day should hurt as part of the daily diet.

sorry dont have the answer but im sure an egg a day is fine... eggs is my favourite food scrambled , poached , boiled mayonnaised, not so much fryed...
i'll keep checking back on your answers... but i think if he's eating other healthy stuff - 5 a day an all that, it should'nt be a problem...
its when they don't eat i suppose you should worry love!
