What do you do when your best friend, the person who knew you better than anyone else, abandons you? What do you do when the person you thought that loved you more than anything else in the world and who you thought cared about you decides that drugs are more important? What do you do when the only person in the world who you really loved leaves you and you don't have anyone else? What do you do when you have to see this person again and again and you can't help but cry at the thought of how much they hurt you? How can you make the pain stop?

The person who I am talking about wasn't just my best friend, he was my boyfriend. And finding new friends won't work right now because I have lost faith in everything. I trusted him with everything and he abandoned me.

i don't think it's possible to just make the pain stop. as for the person that decided drugs are more important. that will be his/her loss in the end.
i think only time will help you to get over whatever it is that hurt you.

The kindness of strangers is always an incredible thing to witness, already you've got alot of people trying to help you out and offering someone to talk with (themselves). We've all gone through something similar like you so we all relate; and we've all had different ways of coping. I looked up some old friends and started to party with them again, I started to read more, do some jogging... heck, even Y!A is therapeutic.
Just hang in there, things will eventually be better, but you gotta decide to make them better. Until then, if you ever need someone to talk to, you can look me up and drop me a line if you want.

That's hard for me to answer because I enjoy being alone.
My granddaughter's father decided he liked drugs better than he loved her. He hasn't seen her in years. She was upset and hurt for a while because when he left he also took her dog. That double whammy caused some tears at bedtime.
I guess you have to decide which is more important. Your being true to yourself or giving in to a life of misery with a druggie.
Find something to do... volunteer somewhere, develop a new hobby, join a club or a church group.
There is always the Lord to talk to if you believe that way.

Pray. Read the Bible. THE only promise that will never be broken is that the Lord will love his childeren forever. Give yourself back to the Maker and find the love that you are looking for.
I know that is all VERY bible thrumber but I promise you in Christ you will find happiness. New friends, new family and everylasting love.

If you're religious, go to a local church and get involved. If you're not find another group that hosts activities you enjoy like hiking, bowling, etc.
You can also join a charity or volunteer at a local hospital. Sometimes when your down it makes you feel better to help others.

Professional therapy is in order for you. Also, you should take steps to make changes in your life so that you do not see this person every day. With each day you will feel better. Healing takes time.

You can't make the pain stop, but with time it just will. You have to love yourself enough to let go and take care of you.
