The anagen phase is the growing, or the ‘on’ phase. In humans, this lasts for approximately 1,000 days, but can range from 2 to 6 years. During the anagen phase, hair cells grow rapidly, producing the hair shaft from the follicle, which itself grows deeper into the scalp. The length of your anagen phase determines the maximum length of your hair. So, the longer your anagen phase, the longer your hair will grow.

Hair grows in cycles of various phases:

1) Anagen is the growth phase;

2)Catagen is the involuting or regressing phase; and

3)Telogen, the resting or quiescent phase.

Each phase has several morphologically and histologically distinguishable sub-phases. Prior to the start of cycling is a phase of follicular morphogenesis (formation of the follicle).

There is also a shedding phase, or exogen, that is independent of anagen and telogen in which one of several hairs that might arise from a single follicle exits.

Normally up to 90% of the hair follicles are in anagen phase while, 10–14% are in telogen and 1–2% in catagen. The cycle's length varies on different parts of the body.

For eyebrows, the cycle is completed in around 4 months,

while it takes the scalp 3–4 years to finish; this is the reason eyebrow hairs have a fixed length, while hairs on the head seem to have no length limit.

Growth cycles are controlled by a chemical signal like epidermal growth factor.

Hair growth cycle times:-

Scalp: The time these phases last varies from person to person. Different hair colour and follicle shape effects the timings of these phases.
anagen phase, 2–3 years (occasionally much longer)
catagen phase, 2–3 weeks
telogen phase, around 3 months

Eyebrows etc:
anagen phase, 4–7 months
catagen phase, 3–4 weeks
telogen phase, about 9 months .

If your nails are growing fast then there is a distinct possibility that your scalp hair is also growing fast.

Mostly it is a genetic factor ; still you can consult a proper expert and take care of your hair to increase the Anagen period.

No one seems to be answering the question at hand here..... To find your unique Anagen time you'll have to do some math. First, you need to know how fast hair grows, 1/2 inch every month approximately. Next, you need to measure your hair length when straight, preferably wet. My hair is 20 1/2 inches at its longest it takes 2 months to grow one inch therefore my Anagen phase is 11 months long ( much shorter than average) you can increase growth speed by using deep conditioning with protein once a week and massaging the salvo plenty of home protein cognition ins are available on the Internet.
