Nothing? Why would you think you are risking anything at all? Nowadays people are having children well into their thrities!
You will be more financially stable, emotionally stable, mature, and more ready than if you had a baby at let's say 22 or something. Take your time, when you're nearing 40 then maybe you should feel like you are running some risks by waiting anymore but not by 30.

Fertility declines as we age, and so, sometimes after 30 some people have a more difficult time getting pregnant. That's not a guarantee that it will happen to you, and it's sometimes not even something that you would notice. The bigger risk is that birth defects increase (especially Down's Syndrome) after 35. It's certainly possible and normal to have a healthy baby after 30.

There are some dumb answers in this thread! It is fine to wait til 30. Like someone else said, after 35 there are higher risks, such as down syndrome or higher risk of miscarriage, but the percents are still small. I had my first at 36 and everything was fine. I think anyone under 30 is crazy to have a kid if you want my humble opinion.

There are always risks. There are risks for getting pregnant at a young age too. If you take care of yourself, I don't think it should be a problem. My mother had a child in her 40s and everything worked out fine! If I ever have kids I don't want to have them until my mid 30s, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

No. The risk of birth defects does go up after age 35 though. Hope this helps some.

Well they say it isnt healthy to wait till your 30, but they say you really shouldnt after 35. They say it isnt healthy for you or the baby, but my sister n law is 34 and just got pregnant for the first time and she is having a horrible time. And not only that i guess if you wanted a second child you would be even older and be even more rough. So it really just depends on what you want to do.

There are pros and cons to waiting. The cons are that the older you are having kids the higher the chances of birth defects, pregnancy complications, and/or fertility issues. The pros are that you will probably be more financially and emotionally stable, more mature and responsible.

There are no guarantees in life. I have three children - two with minor "defects". I had them all before I turned 30. Wait until YOU are ready. That´s best for your children too.
