The matter at hand is wether or not Paschal's Wager questions for alternative atheist theories are counted in the drinking game.

--

Mayor's recommendation: We do not count alternative atheist theories in the drinking game, this goes against the spirit of the original intent.

However, this is not a dictatorship, so I put the measure to the body of citizenry.

What say you?

One vote against counting alternative theories in the drinking game. It should be reserved for those who mindlessly ask the same questions that have been asked and answered thousands of times already.

It pays tribute to Pascal's Wager, so sure.

After all, the original Pascal's Wager is pretty weak to begin with, so it's not any weaker if it applies to the Flying Spaghetti Monster or the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

But, since Pascal's Wager is so weak, you need a watered-down drink. I suggest Coors. Then, you will cringe every time you hear Pascal's Wager. As well you should!

In keeping with what I think we decided here:

I say we don't have to (although you can always choose to) drink for alternative atheist theories.

Just:
1. Pascal's wager
2. monkey questions
3. Why to atheists come to R&S
2.5. and any really stupid or often repeated stupid questions.

alternate theories can sometimes be interesting

I agree. My body says, let's keep to the spirit of the original (*hic*).

Although I have to admit I was having a drink when I started reading your Q. I hope this doesn't count as blasphemy and I end up somewhere they only serve watered down Coors!

It's a version of Pascal's Wager, so I think that question should count. Drink!! (Today I'm drinking French Vanilla Godiva's, BTW).

I'd say come up with some valid qualifications for a theory to have before it's accepted into the drinking game.
