Well. You don't say how old the cat was. Kittens are pretty wild to begin with but what you describe as an attack is usually play. Did you ever try getting a long string and tying a wad of paper to the end and dragging it along the floor in front of kitty? Bet there would be an attack on that paper wad. That is fun for both of you! Is this the first cat you ever had? Cats are very sensitive creatures. You can get rough with a dog but not a cat. Cats need love and gentle attention. If you are scared they will sense that. The color of the cat makes no difference because for the most part, cats are what cats are. They pretty much react the same regardless of color though some breeds will be more aggressive than others. Never be afraid of a house cat. They just love to play, and they'd love to play with you. Remember, the key word is gentle!

It's a CAT... how could you possibly be helpless against it's attack? Unless you are some sort of drooling paraplegic or you have the agility of a sloth, you should be able to defend yourself from your cat.

Perhaps you need to KICK a little fear into it and let it know who the boss is. If you continue to let your cat attack you, it will think it's the owner and you are it's pet. So next time it attacks you, boot it across the room and it will think twice about attacking you in the future.

my heart goes out to you. i have never been afraid of a pet animal, but i know what it is to be attacked.
i won't ask what happened to the cat. sometimes pets just loss it. l don't know what happens, but it does. just remember the good times, and move on. if a white cat scares you go for another color. take your time and good luck.

My question is what did you mean by "(my cat was white"). Did something happen to her?
