Just so you know for next time, it is better that a wedding gift be sent to the home of the bride before the wedding. This alleviates the lost or stolen gift issue and the problem that arises when the gifts get separated from the card or gift tag.
I hate the idea of a cash gift but, at this late date, it might be your only option. All I can think of is a wonderful wedding album or frame which everyone always seems to need - or some sort of keepsake.

Definitely go with a nice card and some cash... every couple always wants cash!! At least this way, they can spend it on something they need or want because they will more than likely get duplicates of things. I gave a girl I worked with but wasn't close to $40 in a nice card and she wrote in her thank you card that they used it towards a bbq for their new house. Hope that helps! Have fun at the wedding! :)

Somthing off the registry or maybe a gift certificate to a nice local restuarant. Couples like a night out...

$50 Target Gift Certificate
600 Thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets
Crystal Wedding Picture frame
or you can go with the obvious:
Crystal vase, wedding album, crock pot etc.
Good luck

you can still give money gift if you still can't come up with a gift idea. just get a card and envelope and place the money in it then write a couple of words and sign it.
usually the couple would have a gift/money holder available so that's where you insert this envelope.

give money. it's what people really wantbut sometimes can't ask for because they might feel like they're being rude. money is practical and will help offset the enormous cost of the wedding. make sure you cover your meal (and your date's) in your monetary gift.

Get something off of her registry. If you can't find anything there, get a nice card and give cash (whatever you can afford)
