My best friend and i have been close for 3 years - it turns out we've secretly liked each other the whole time without even knowing it until now. We do care and have fallen for each other but we decided that we both weren't ready for a serious relationship. Yes, there were times where in between, we would hook up but THIS TIME, we had a serious talk and promised that we can't be "biased" about things and go back to being best friends. We're both happy that things are back to normal...but more him than me. I'm heartbroken because that guy i've been wanting/dreaming for was the one right next to me and i can't be with him. He seems more over it than me - he's just happy we're normal again...then it makes me wonder if he ever had a thing for me....i need to trust what he said because before he said that if we were to be together it would be a time where things weren't as stressful (degree, work, etc..) and he wants it to be serious and long lasting...

HELP ME PLEASE im aching...

I love my best friend and 3years has nothing on me, I met my bestfriend when i was about 8 years old and he was 10. when i finally got old enough that i thougt of boyfriends i couldnt hink of anyone else but him. we wanted to be together and when i turned 14 we were and i never thought that it would end. when he turned 18 all of sudden he thought he was to old for me but the catch is that he married my sister and they have been married for about 4 years. know that im 21 he wants to be with me. sorry for the story, but you will never be over each other ever, and when you fall for your bestfriends its for a reason and please to let that go because you probably wont ever find another person that makes you feel the same way that he dose. think really hard and make sure thats what really wants to happen between the two of you. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry for your situation. I have several thoughts. One, maybe he is not as "over you" as you think. Does he know that you are "aching" or are you playing it cool? Maybe he's playing it cool, too. Number two...as to whether he is telling the truth to you. How does he treat other girls/girlfriends? Does he lie, cheat, deceive? If he does, zebras don't change their stripes. He is probably lying to you too. I wouldn't give up totally, but don't wait on the sidelines either. Date others and see what happens. He may just realize he is not over you either. Best wishes and be smart.

i was stuck in the same situation, you just have to not speak to each other for a while, you don't grow apart, but you grow separately
